The ASAP Level - 1 programme is a combination of three courses - Communication Skills in English, Basic IT and an Elective Domain Specific Skill Course. The Programmes are developed, delivered, assessed and certified with the active participation of the related industries to ensure labour market acceptance of the programmes.
FOUNDATION MODULE CLASSES & SKILL MODULE CLASSES
The course consists of 100 hours of Communicative English classes and 80 hours of IT training which will be held at our college. On the basis of Online Aptitude test, participants are allotted skill courses of nearly 200 hours which will be held at Government College Kottayam on holidays. 80% attendance is compulsory for students.
The sessions are directed towards imparting effective communication skills, language proficiency in English, and the skills required for employability and better performance at the work place.
The materials have been divided into five modules, and they focus on various aspects of personality development and professional skills. In addition to training students to acquire social skills, the module on writing and presenting a project will help them to coordinate and critically address contemporary issues. The approach is student centered, activity oriented, interactive and task-based.
Classes are made more interactive and interesting through various group activities, discussions, debates, role plays, games etc. Continuous and compulsory English speaking is always ensured in the class. A steady increment in the confidence, presentation and fluency level of students can be observed now. Learners are also encouraged to think creatively and critically on contemporary issues and develop a high level of civic sense and values.
